Artwork & File Preparation Guidelines

At Print Addix, we want your custom prints to look their best. Following these artwork guidelines helps ensure your files are ready for printing and can help prevent delays with your order.

Print Addix products are printed using artwork supplied by the customer. Please review the guidelines below before uploading your design.

Accepted Artwork File Formats

Depending on the product and its upload tool, accepted file formats may include:

  • PNG – Recommended for DTF transfers, and designs with transparent backgrounds.

  • PDF – Great for print-ready artwork and vector designs.

  • AI – Adobe Illustrator vector artwork.

  • EPS – Vector artwork suitable for professional printing.

  • SVG – Scalable vector artwork.

  • JPG/JPEG – Suitable for certain products when the image has adequate resolution.

Important: Accepted file formats may vary by product. Always check the file upload options on the product page.

IMPORTANT: All Text Must Be Converted to Outlines in Vector Files

REQUIRED FOR ALL VECTOR ARTWORK (PDF, AI, EPS, AND SVG):

ALL text must be converted to outlines (also called curves or paths) before uploading your file. Do not submit vector artwork containing live, editable text.

Print Addix may not have the fonts used in your design. If text has not been outlined, fonts may be missing or automatically substituted when we open your file. This can cause incorrect lettering, changes in spacing, or an altered design.

Before uploading your artwork:

  • Convert all text to outlines, curves, or paths.

  • Make sure no live or editable text remains in the file.

  • Review your artwork after converting the text to confirm everything looks correct.

  • Save or export your final print-ready file.

Important: Simply embedding a font in a PDF does not replace our requirement to convert all text to outlines.

Customers are responsible for submitting print-ready artwork with all text properly outlined. Files containing live fonts may require correction before printing and could delay your order.

Artwork Resolution and Print Quality

For the best print quality, we recommend 300 DPI at the final intended print size for raster artwork.

For example, a design printed at 6 inches wide should ideally be at least 1,800 pixels wide.

Enlarging a small, low-resolution image can cause blurry or pixelated printing.

Vector files can be uploaded if available and can be resized without losing image quality.

DTF Transfer Artwork Guidelines

For custom DTF transfers and DTF gang sheets:

  • Use a PNG file with a transparent background whenever possible.

  • Prepare raster artwork at 300 DPI at the intended print size.

  • Make sure text and design elements are clear and properly sized.

  • Remove unwanted backgrounds from your artwork.

  • Check your gang sheet layout and design dimensions before submitting your order.

Important: White areas in your design may print as white ink. If you do not want a white background, your artwork must have a transparent background.

Custom Banners and Yard Sign Artwork

For banners and yard signs:

  • Submit artwork sized proportionally to your selected print dimensions.

  • Use high-resolution images and clear, readable text.

  • Keep important text and logos away from the edges.

  • Make sure the background extends to the edges if you want full-background printing.

  • Review spelling, phone numbers, dates, and other important information before uploading.

Artwork with backgrounds is perfectly acceptable for banners and yard signs.

Custom Decal and Sticker Artwork

For custom die-cut decals and stickers:

  • Upload the design you want printed.

  • Select your desired decal size and quantity on the product page.

  • Use high-resolution artwork or vector files whenever possible.

  • Avoid tiny text and extremely fine details that may be difficult to print or cut.

  • Make sure your artwork has clearly defined edges when requesting a contour-cut design.

You only need to upload one design, even when ordering multiple copies of the same decal.

Demolition Derby Door Wraps and Roof Sign Artwork

For demolition derby door wraps and roof signs:

  • Submit artwork appropriate for your selected product size.

  • Make sure car numbers, driver names, and sponsor logos are easy to read.

  • Use high-resolution artwork or vector graphics whenever possible.

  • Keep important design elements away from the edges.

  • Double-check spelling and number accuracy before ordering.

Check Your Artwork Before Ordering

Before submitting your order, please verify:

  • Your artwork is the correct design.

  • The selected product size and quantity are correct.

  • Text, names, dates, and phone numbers are accurate.

  • All Text has been converted to outlines.
  • Images are high resolution.

  • Transparent backgrounds are used where needed.

  • Your file matches the upload requirements for the product.
